Tucked into the lush Nantahala National Forest just four miles south of downtown Cashiers, Silver Run Falls is one of the most popular and accessible waterfall destinations in Jackson County. Cascading 25 to 40 feet over a rock face into a wide, crystal-clear, sandy-bottom pool, it is a favorite year-round stop for photographers, families, and summer swimmers.

The gentle cascade feeds into a shallow, clear basin with a sandy beach area, making it one of the top natural cooling spots in the region during summer months.
An easy, level dirt path and wooden boardwalk weave through dense rhododendron and mountain laurel, leading across a footbridge over Silver Run Creek directly to the base of the falls.
Thanks to the short walk and low-incline terrain, it’s an ideal outdoor excursion for young children, seniors, and leashed dogs.
Located right off NC-107 with a dedicated pull-off area, it makes for a perfect quick excursion on the way south toward Whitewater Falls or South Carolina.
