Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the historic Shelton House (built in 1875) stands as a centerpiece of Waynesville's cultural history. Serving as the official home of the Museum of North Carolina Handicrafts, this Charleston-style farmhouse with its signature double veranda houses an extraordinary collection of 19th- and 20th-century artisan crafts, heritage farm equipment, and regional art from across North Carolina.
