Your online resource for the Smoky Mountains
A beloved summer tradition in downtown Franklin, North Carolina, Pickin' on the Square brings the town to life with live acoustic music, dancing, and community spirit. Gathering around the downtown gazebo, locals and visitors alike come together on alternate Saturday evenings to enjoy bluegrass, mountain country, and traditional Appalachian tunes under the open sky.
Enjoy performances from talented local bands, regional bluegrass pickers, and traditional gospel groups sharing authentic Southern Appalachian sounds.
Bring your comfortable shoes! The open space in front of the gazebo frequently turns into an impromptu dance floor for clogged, square-danced, and two-stepped rhythms.
A welcoming, alcohol-free event perfect for all ages. Kids can dance along while families spread out lawn chairs and blankets across the gazebo lawn.
Located right in the heart of historic downtown Franklin, attendees can easily grab dinner at a nearby local restaurant, grab an ice cream cone, or browse local shops before the music starts.
