Located along US-19 near the crest of Soco Gap, Soco Falls is one of the most stunning and unique natural attractions in the Maggie Valley area. Situated right on the boundary between Haywood County and the Cherokee Indian Reservation, this rare double waterfall features two separate streams—one flowing from Soco Creek and another from a smaller tributary—converging into a single scenic gorge.

A short, paved walk leads from the parking area to an upper wooden viewing platform, making the falls accessible for visitors wanting a quick and easy view.
For experienced hikers seeking a closer look, a steep dirt path with fixed ropes leads down to the base of the gorge (exercise caution, as rocks and soil are often wet and slippery).
Spring and early summer bring the heaviest water flow, though autumn provides spectacular fall foliage surrounding the falls.
Wear sturdy shoes with good traction if you plan to descend past the observation deck to the base.
Parking is located in a small pull-off area along Soco Road (US-19). Watch carefully for the blue landmark sign, as the pull-off can be easy to miss when traveling at speed.
