🏛️ A Rich Mountain Heritage

Long before European settlers established the town in 1795, the fertile river valleys of Sevierville were heavily populated by Cherokee communities who created extensive trail networks and trading routes across the Smoky Mountains.

As early settlers moved into the region, they built farms and mills along the banks of the French Broad and Little Pigeon Rivers. Named in honor of John Sevier—Tennessee’s first governor—Sevierville blends small-town Southern hospitality with rich East Tennessee history.
